Why did you choose mining engineering?
I was born in a mining community. I was inspired by the profession right in my early years, as I got curious about what exactly went into getting precious minerals out of rocks. This interest was heightened when I majored in Science in high school and got to learn a little bit about gold extraction. That was when I decided to go all out for it in college.

What interested you about Strayos? Why did you apply?
After reading about Strayos, I knew they were going to offer the best connection between myself and my career aspiration in the mining industry. Strayos is dedicated to the application of data analytics and AI in the following industries: quarry and aggregate, drilling and blasting, and mining. As a mining engineering student, I have devoted time to build up my data analytics and AI expertise because I look forward to providing AI-based solutions in the industry after school. To this end, I knew Strayos was the right place to be.

How do you see your time at Strayos contributing to your plans? What do you hope to accomplish during your time with us?
My time at Strayos is worth it. They have a good grooming plan that has begun shaping me into the professional I want to become. I see that I will be fully capable of providing AI- and data-analytics-driven solutions by the time I am through with this internship.

What are you working on right now?
